I saw this campaign on Facebook a couple of weeks ago and it really moved me. I found myself bawling by the end of it. I feel like as women we are so hard on our self.   We are so critical of what we look like. Don't deny it.. we all have done it once or twice. Its like we are trying to measure up to the rest of the world. The video helped remind me to appreciate my looks and love myself for who I am.

I had the opportunity to do hair and makeup for Dr. Jane Scott. She was doing a segment on Studio5 about her company called the Tortle. She is such an amazing pediatrician changing the lives of children everywhere. She has created a hat to help prevent Flat Head Syndrome. Her company has been spread worldwide. Talking to her and understanding how see got to this point was inspiring. I encourage every mom or future mom to visit her on Tortle.com and on Facebook.

In picking the winner for the Stella and Dot bracelet, I literally put the names in a hat and picked one out. I couldn't think of any other way to pick the winner. Every ones comment about Valentine's Day was so sweet and so beautiful. Those comments helped me re-think how I view Valentine's Day.  Thank you to everyone who entered. It was another fun day at Studio 5. I'm so grateful for my wonderful models Meg, Becky and Bre. They are so beautiful and did an amazing job. I feel bad I didn't mention half of the things I wanted to. I was a little nervous and forgot to mention a couple things. I had some tips when wearing red lipstick. 1st, Make sure your lips are moisturized. The last thing you want is chapped lips when wearing such a bright bold color. 2nd, If you want your color to stand out and look really crisp. You can prime your lips or use a concealer to make your lips nude followed by the lipstick and then the lip liner. 3rd, don't be afraid to try a red lip. It can really add personality to an outfit. It is always a great way to bring the natural colors in your skin.

My wonderful friend and local stylist for Stella and Dot Heather Thibeau sponsored this giveaway just in time for Valentines day.  I'm obsessed with this bracelet. It is the perfect piece to any outfit.

Requirements:

1. Must be a follower of Farfalla {Need to "join this site" on the sidebar}
2. Follow Stella and Dot on Facebook
3. Post a comment below telling me your favorite part of Valentines Day.

Women with fair skin tone have it pretty easy. Most any red will look amazing. But if your needing a guideline or wanting to keep it safe just pick a true red lipstick. For example a fire engine red.  Something that isn't too pink or too blue. Fair skin tends to have more of a pink undertone so picking more natural reds will really complement your skin.

Women with medium skin tone it is important to pick reds that have a warmer undertone. For example a cherry red or a brick red. Medium skin tones tend to have more of a yellow or olive undertone, so focusing on the warmer reds will be much more flattering with your skin.

Just like the Fair skin, dark skin tones have such a wide range of reds to choose from. With that being said try to find the reds that have more of a brown or golden undertones to it. For example a Ruby Red or a berry red. It will really help enhance the golden tones in your skin.

All in all.. just have fun with it. You only live once so take a chance, wear that red lip and own it!  I will if you will.
